Old-fashioned School: Dolls

Our dolls
Old-fashioned School was all about dolls today. We made our own dolls out of old-timey clothespins, fabric, and wool roving for hair. The girls designed the outfits. We tried using school glue, but it was not sticking well, so we turned to the glue gun. The ones on the right are Mabel's. She said that she needed to make a man doll to go with her first doll so that "he could marry his girl." Ella made the ones on the right, a grandma and a girl.

Then we printed out some paper dolls. I found this set on pinterest called The Ginghams. They're cute and old-fashioned in a 1970s way and have lots of clothes to print out, including a whole page of green dresses for Mabel. The dolls have names like Sarah and Becky, and the girls just couldn't seem to remember these names. I guess they just don't know many Sarahs and Beckys because they are all their mom's age. Strange!
