Our project for Old-fashioned school today was Wash Day! I couldn't find our wash board, so we used two bowls of water. My mom had sent me some old doll clothes, which we washed and then hung up to dry.
A blog in which I share the wonders of: parenting, learning to do old-fashioned things, trying to follow God, and attempting to be the best little farmhouse in a depressed, former mill-town in western Massachusetts.
As I let the wonder wash over me I realized that this was the gift I really wanted to give my children, for what good are straight teeth and trumpet lessons to a person who cannot see the grandeur that the world is charged with? --Katherine Patterson
"Looking back on Eldridge's life, it becomes clear that he was so far behind the times that he actually ended up ahead. As people today champion the benefits of buying local foods, growing heirloom vegetables, and farming organically, it turns out that Eldridge had been living that way for over eighty years; his life has much to teach us."
